As dusk settles over Milan, Padiglione Visconti opens its doors, inviting the city to the IKEA “1st” exhibition. During Milan Design Week, the venue becomes a sanctuary where the vibrant energy of the city’s music scene unfolds each evening. “1st” celebrates the individual’s journey towards independence, offering a place where visitors can connect through the universal language of music and design.
“Building on the strong music presence at our recent Milan Design Weeks and last month at Paris Fashion Week, we are thrilled about the collaborations for this year’s ‘1st’ exhibition”
– Marcus Engman, Creative Director at Ingka Group (IKEA Retail)
On Tuesday 16th Lorenzo Senni will be the headliner for the threes production night co-hosted by RPM and Yes Reven alternating sounds between pointillistic trance, techno and electronica with earthy echos that remind us that music and art can be the force for a more positive and conscious attitude toward the future.
Wednesday 17th Burro studio with residents Acidgigi and Riccardo BHI along with Bulma Brief bring to life a mix of impactful A/V show with house, techno and R&B, the trademark of one of the most easily recognizable nights on the Milan scene.
Thursday 18th Akeem, a historic night in south Milan dedicated to black culture lands in via Tortona with its team formed by Marvely, Davide Dev, Miro and Erica Gal offering a mix of rap, R&B, afrobeat and hip hop that will transform a quiet evening into one of the hottest party nights of the week.
Friday, 19th Ciao! Discoteca Italiana with its roster of DJs will bring out those Italian disco funk gems from the 70s-80s that convey a feeling of nostalgic joy for a kind of sound of the past that speaks so much about our current music playlists.
On Saturday, 20th SLIPMODE, an all-female DJ crew that champions inclusivity and creativity take the stage. With ninafterdark, Acideyes, Amazon, Miss Jay, and Sukubratz at the decks, SLIPMODE’s sets are a sign of a change in the music system where every guest will feel welcomed but most of all free to express themselves.
“Building on the strong music presence at our recent Milan Design Weeks and last month at Paris Fashion Week, we are thrilled about the collaborations for this year’s ‘1st’ exhibition. It’s a privilege to give the stage to these talented up-and-coming artists and to welcome the people of Milan into our space. Each evening promises to be a unique experience that we hope will leave a lasting impression,” says Marcus Engman, Creative Director at Ingka Group (IKEA Retail).
We invite you to join us for a series of evenings where the simple pleasures of music and design come together in a space for relaxation and inspiration.

About the IKEA 1st Exhibition
IKEA returns to Milan Design Week with the exhibition “1st”, 15 – 21 April 2024, taking over Padiglione Visconti, via Tortona 58. Padiglione Visconti, the 1244-square metre venue where over seventy-seven thousand joined the IKEA exhibition during Milan Design Week 2023, will be transformed into an IKEA playground. Expertly designed by long-time IKEA collaborators; architect Midori Hasuike and spatial designer Emerzon, the exhibition aims to spotlight the often contrasting, but frequently similar ways we deal with moving out on our own for the first time.
