About
Peter van der Poel is the Managing Director for Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group. In this role, he leads the investment agenda, carefully balancing our investment activities that contribute to the financial resilience of the company, the development, and innovation of our retail business and Ingka centres – with the ambition to have a positive impact on people and our planet.
Peter’s IKEA journey started in the IKEA store in Delft, Netherlands, and later became Sales Manager for IKEA Netherlands. He worked in the Dutch retail organization for several years before joining IKEA of Sweden as a Business Area Manager, moving to Älmhult in Sweden, where IKEA has its roots.
Before his current position, Peter was IKEA Range and Supply Manager and Managing Director of IKEA of Sweden, where for the past five years he was responsible for the product range and business development, supporting all our IKEA markets around the world.
Peter is known for his inspiring and culture-driven leadership style geared to people and business development and a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
Peter holds an MBA from The Hague University. He is married, has three children, and is based in the Netherlands. In his free time, he likes walking his dog, reading, and sports.
