IKEA reinvents home shopping with smart new app features

With over 86 million downloads globally, IKEA is once again redefining the home shopping experience by unveiling several innovative features on its mobile app. The enhancements will create a more seamless, personalised, and inspiring shopping journey, strengthening the IKEA position as a leader of life at home. These latest updates reaffirm the company’s dedication to innovation and customer-centric solutions, ensuring that every shopping journey – whether online or in-store – is more intuitive, efficient, and more enjoyable than ever before.

What new features can consumers expect?

Your Home, Reimagined

The IKEA app introduces new tools that make home furnishing easier and more inspiring. With 3D visualizations and personalised recommendations, customers can explore creative ideas and bring their spaces to life.

IKEA Kreativ 3D Experience: Take the guesswork out of buying furniture by previewing items in a space or rotating them in 3D to see all angles. This augmented reality tool gives users the latest tech on how to scan their spaces, visualize products, remove existing items and explore designs like never before.

Shopping, Simplified

IKEA understands the value of convenience. The app now offers tools to streamline the shopping experience from start to finish:

Shop & Go: Customers can scan and shop as they move through the store, skipping queues and enjoying more time for a post-shopping coffee.

Express Checkout: The mobile wallet feature enables faster, more secure transactions.

Order Tracking and Express Returns: Orders, updates, cancellations and returns can be managed in one place, streamlining the process and saving time.

Food Mobile: No more shopping on an empty stomach! Enjoy shorter waiting times when ordering at the IKEA restaurant and bistro though the IKEA app.

Store Page: Customers can now view their local store page, check quieter times, and access exclusive local offers.

Improved Notifications: Customers can now get notified when cool stuff is happening at an IKEA store nearby! Getting the latest information on events, offers, new collections and back in store notifications.

Purchase Summary: All purchase details, including receipts and order history, are stored in the app for easy access.

Newly Improved Membership Space

The app’s intelligent personalisation makes every visit uniquely tailored to the buyer. IKEA Family members gain access to an enhanced membership space with exclusive discounts and personalised offers based on their shopping preferences. The new points-based loyalty program rewards purchases and engagement, including online interactions, planning sessions, and wish list creation.

Members can track and redeem points for perks like free Click & Collect services, complimentary meals at IKEA restaurants, and home furnishing vouchers. The upgraded membership space offers insider access to product launches, sustainability initiatives, and special events, along with classic benefits like free drinks and even, workshop invitations.

To further elevate the home experience, IKEA is also making it easier for customers to improve their sleep. With IKEA Kreativ, shoppers can design their own sleep sanctuaries using immersive 3D technology, ensuring their bedrooms are as restful as they are stylish.
